Courtis House
Description

Our brief from the client was to design a contemporary house to replace that of the 1950’s bungalow which previously occupied the site. The design was developed with clean lines and using a limited palette of materials and a flat roof with large areas of glazing. The design was supported by Planning and Conservation in this designated Conservation area through to committee, but unfortunately this met with some local opposition and thus failed to win the support of the Planning Committee. As a result of this a further design was produced highlighting a more traditional appearance, with a pitched roof, which was then supported by the Planning Committee.
