As part of Stafford’s overall development plan it was proposed that Stafford Central Clinic would relocate to the towns Civic Centre. The new development was to provide the same facilities within a more clinical and refreshing environment.
In order to achieve the brief, an existing floor of the Stafford Civic Centre was completely stripped out to make way for a No. of new consultant rooms and office spaces. A high specification of materials, similar to those used in hospitals was proposed to give the department a cleaner, fresher image. In order to break up the linear plan of the existing, pockets of waiting areas were proposed and curved walls introduce to avoid any long monotonous corridors.
