St George's Hospital
Description

Hospital. This Grade 2 listed Building was erected in 1818 as a Lunatic Asylum and were one of only three similar hospitals built in England at the time to resemble a late Georgian country house. The building were constructed on a rise looking south over extensive parkland to the town centre of Stafford. The building is in very poor condition and is proposed to be redeveloped into apartments.

Within the grounds the proposals are for a mixed use development with offices, apartments, a retirement village and housing. This mixture should lead to a vibrant and exciting environment and is particularly appropriate on a site of this type and size.
