King Edward VI Camp Hill Girls
Description

The new Learning Hub building at King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls in Birmingham comprises two science laboratories, two classrooms and a training room, providing essential teaching space for the school and a training resource for wider use.

The form of the building is determined by the need to preserve an important tree, with faceted copper and brick facades following the lines of the driveway and generating a natural courtyard space in relation to the existing buildings on the site.

The teaching and training spaces are clad in pre-patinated copper whilst the circulation areas and ancillary rooms are housed within a buff brick ‘spine’ which wraps around the back of the building.
