This Children’s Centre serves the community and is run by the South Derbyshire District Council. The centre provides support for families with children under the age of 5. The centre forms the management and administrative base from which services offered are coordinated and which (along with the Sports Centre and the School) form part a local community hub.
The form makes reference to a hatched egg, a place of nurturing, knowledge and support. The curved design was developed to both create a sense of arrival to the Children’s Centre and also to lead sports hall visitors towards the main entrance of the community Sports Centre.
