Chase Leisure Centre
Description

The multi-million pound refurbishment and extension of Chase Leisure Centre involved the major refurbishment and extension of the current facilities in order to incorporate a 114 station state of the art Fitness Suite with a wide variety of equipment catering for all fitness levels, an air conditioned fitness and dance studio, modernised changing rooms, showers and toilets for the ground floor sports hall, a community function room, three new treatment rooms and a new café.

The main pool was originally 33m long and was sub-divided to a 25m x 12.5m in order that competitions can take place. The remaining section of the pool (7.5m x 12.5m) has a moving floor area which can vary from zero to 2.7m and is used for a variety of activities including Aqua Aerobics, Sub Aqua and swimming lessons.
Warmer water in the new small teaching pool ensures a pleasant experience for parent and child swimming lessons.

Externally the external facade was re-clad with insulated render and a new feature curved standing seam roof was constructed over the existing flat roof and disabled parking and access to all areas of the facility were incorporated.

Internally one of the elements was to completely redesign the swimming changing facilities with a village changing facility which incorporated single, family and disabled cubicles and lockers.
