Lead by Stone Town Council, a scheme was outlined to bring the building back from a state bordering on dereliction into use as a Community Centre, with caretaker’s flat on first floor. The Grade 2 listed building has been conserved and renovated, but also has a contemporary extension in what was an overgrown courtyard Stone Town Council received a National Railway Heritage Award for this scheme in December 2004
