The North Staffordshire Railway, although a small and local system, was noted for the architectural quality of many of its stations. A recurring characteristic was a Jacobean style building as the station at Stone, designed in 1848. Interestingly, we found the original drawings of the station in our archives, so it would appear that Stone Station was one of Thomas Trubshaws projects.
