The existing dormer windows were carefully restored where possible, but where beyond repair reconstructed applying traditional detailing methods. The existing roof slates were re-used on the internal west elevation, with new Westmoreland green slates laid on the prominent east elevation. The chimney stacks were re-pointed with lime mortar and extensive repairs carried out to the stone balustrading and copings. This building is listed Grade 1 and the recent roof repairs were assisted by a grant from English Heritage.
