The design proposals for the school are part of a major development, consisting of six separate planning applications, including another secondary school, public playing fields and housing. The Design Brief has been prepared in collaboration with three local authorities, the Environment Agency and the Diocesan Trustees.

Construction commenced in January 2008 and is scheduled for completion in June 2009
